We've compiled our top 10 Fundraising ideas. Some are easy to organise and others will require the execution of a military team. Unfortunately, funds for emotional regulation tools and sensory equipment is not easily accessible.

In the video above we've highlighted some of our go to ideas. Our favourite is the 'Local Business Directory' that is produced by the school and distributed to all staff and students. Funds are raised by charging each business for their promotional page. This is project that could be run annually and could build over time if parents actively visit and support the businesses listed in the directory.
How to get businesses involved - Prepare a information document
We've also put together a pdf that can be distributed to local businesses or inspire your own. It should explain the fundraising project detailing 'the Why' behind getting involved. To increase success rate we highly recommend:
Hand delivering an envelope addressed to the business owner/marketing contact. Offers that personal touch. You can usually get valuable information from staff on the best approach/method.
Paint a picture: Include your heart felt proposal with pictures of the school & students.
Detailing what you propose to purchase with any funds donated, who will most benefit and the longer term outcomes as a result.
Include method of donations. Add in a link to a fundraising page if you have set one up
(e.g idonate.ie).
Every business is a potential donor. Give everyone the opportunity to say Yes.

HOW IT WORKS
The directory booklet is prepared by the school on word or powerpoint. A5 or DL are good economical sizes. Local businesses with mass market appeal are very interested in getting their brand in front of your school community. Schools too often target the higher profile businesses on the main street for sponsorship and neglect a whole untapped cohort:
Farmers, Manufacturers, Dentists, Solicitors, Accountants, Medical Clinics, Pharmacists, Beauty Salons, Gyms etc. Once you collect the information needed you can easily slot the information into the prepared template.
